Prior to joining Allcock & Marcus, Sean worked with a prominent Boston firm specializing in land use, zoning, permitting and licensing. With his unique experience and skillset, Sean worked with clients to expedite regulatory matters, resolve complex issues and earn favorable decisions before City of Boston Boards and Commissions. As Associate Counsel and Director of University Relations for the President’s Office of the University of Massachusetts and its Building Authority, Sean oversaw public outreach and government relations for large-scale real estate projects throughout the state, including the Bayside Property in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, now marketed as Dorchester Bay City. In that role, he also lead the University’s response to all public records requests across the system and oversaw their appeals, and reporting processes with the Secretary of State and Attorney General.

Early in his career, Sean began in the administration of Boston Mayors Thomas M. Menino serving in multiple positions during his time with the city. As the Mayor’s South Boston neighborhood liaison for zoning and licensing matters, Sean oversaw those required public processes, and worked with developers, community and business leaders to ensure stakeholder participation and compliance, while representing the Mayor before each respective board.

A fifth generation Bostonian, Sean’s personal ties to the city of Boston run deep, particularly in the community of South Boston. Growing up in Boston instilled a resilience and tenacity in Sean that he also brings to his representation of clients in his legal practice.

Sean graduated magna cum laude with his JD from New England School of Law Boston and his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During his time at NESL, Sean was a Research Associate for the Handbook of Massachusetts Law of Land Use and Planning Law and received multiple academic awards.
